Brad Anderson Executive Director
Brad Anderson provides leadership to a talented team of recreation and community minded individuals in a 250,000 sq ft community and recreation facility that sees more than one million visits annually. The Genesis Centre is a community hub for physical, social, and spiritual wellness at the service of the most culturally diverse quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. Prior to employment at The Genesis Centre, Brad held several management positions at Cardel Place from 2007-2012 and completed his Bachelor of Small Business & Entrepreneurship at Mount Royal University.
Brad is passionate about active living and has completed a number of endurance races including the 2014 Arizona Ironman. firstname.lastname@example.org
Glenda Marr Business Development Manager
Glenda joined the Genesis Centre in 2015 and provides leadership in the area of new business development and oversees the bookings department for sports & special events as well as the creation and implementation of all strategic marketing initiatives. Prior to joining the Genesis Centre, Glenda operated her own business in Mexico following her senior management positon for 10 years with the Calgary Winter Club. She holds a Marketing Diploma from Grant McEwan University.
Glenda enjoys running and overall fitness and has completed a number of marathons including the Boston Marathon. Her volunteer work includes a number of charities as well as Immigration Canada assisting new immigrants with their resumes and job search.
Sherry King Accounting Manager
Sherry joined the Genesis Centre team in 2011 prior to the completion of the Genesis Centre. Prior to that she was a key volunteer with the NECCS Board of Directors “Completing the Dream Together” Capital Campaign with one of her fondest memories being the ground breaking ceremony of the Genesis Centre of Community Wellness shared with her middle son. Sherry has lived, worked and been heavily involved in North East Calgary her entire life. She strongly believes in giving back and the need for strong communities. Graham Thomson Service & Experience Manager
Graham joined the Genesis Centre team in 2014 and provides leadership to the day-to-day operations of admissions, facility rentals, and programming. Additionally, Graham acts as our community ambassador. Prior to the Genesis Centre, Graham held a variety of management roles with Cardel Place and The City of Calgary. He holds a Bachelor of Recreation Management from Acadia University.
Graham fills his time by volunteering on a variety of boards and committees; The Alberta Recreation and Parks Association Child & Youth committee and, Calgary Board of Education Campus Calgary & Open Minds Advisor Team to name a few. firstname.lastname@example.org
Doug Taggart Building Operations Manager
Doug joined the Genesis team in April 2015. He provides leadership and operational experience to the Building Operations and Custodial department. Doug has 30 years of operational experience while working for the City of Calgary Recreation department. He operated Arenas and Athletic parks such as the Max Bell Centre and Shouldice Arena / Athletic park. Doug and his wife Christine enjoy travelling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. He was born and raised in Calgary and still calls this great city home today email@example.com
Krista Frayn Events Coordinator
Krista joined the Genesis Centre team in 2012 as the Special Events Coordinator. Krista handles all aspects of Special Events within The Genesis Centre from inquires and bookings to logistics and event coordination. Stephen Osondu Duty Manager
Stephen Osondu is a Duty Manager in the Genesis Centre team and comes with wealth of experience haven worked in the hospitality industry for years. Among his qualifications include a master degree in business management from Dublin City University. In 2013, Stephen decided it was time for a change of scenery and relocated with his family from Ireland to Canada where they are currently making a new home. Dana MacCallum Bookings Coordinator
Dana joined the Genesis Centre team in Summer 2014 and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to both existing and prospective sport, special event, and other facility user groups. Prior to the Genesis Centre, Dana graduated from Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Applied Business and Entrepreneurship - Sport and Recreation degree. She brings a number of years of experience with sports and special events from positions with the Calgary Flames / Stampeders / Roughnecks, Calgary Ladies’ Field Hockey Association (CLFHA), Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) and the Calgary Winter Club. Outside of work, you’ll find Dana playing a number of organized sports including basketball, field hockey, slo-pitch and volleyball.
Kohe Sandeveland Events Coordinator
Kohe joined the Genesis Centre team in July 2014 and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to both existing and prospective sport, special event, and other facility user groups. In 2012, she graduated from MRU with an Applied Business & Entrepreneurship Degree with a major in Sport and Recreation and a minor in Marketing, after which she moved to Portland Oregon to intern with the City of Portland Parks and Recreation Bureau.
Growing up in a tight knit community Kohe witnessed firsthand how intentional community building nourishes the well-being of people of all ages, and that sport and recreation are two of the key components. When not at work Kohe loves to spend time in the mountains snowboarding & hiking or gathering with friends and family either to play or converse over a great meal.
Alim Ismail Duty Manager
Alim joined the Genesis Centre team in October 2012, and spent the next 2 years with customer service while completing his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Calgary. Upon graduation he joined the Genesis Centre management team as a Duty Manager. He manages the day-to-day operations of the facility and strives to provide an exceptional experience for the community using this multipurpose facility.
When not hard at work at the Genesis Centre, Alim is an avid outdoorsman and lover of performing arts. You can usually find him hiking, camping, and mountaineering in the Rockies, and taking in concerts and plays within the city. firstname.lastname@example.org
Kanwar Pannu Duty Manager
Kanwar joined the Genesis Centre team in 2014 as a Facility Attendant. He has a Masters Degree in Physical Education and began working as a Physical Education Teacher/Lecturer in 4 different institutions in India before moving to Canada in 2013. email@example.com
